AIA Long Beach/South Bay Scholarship and Awards Programs celebrate the power of design to create stronger, more resilient, and more connected communities. Through thoughtful architecture and planning, architects have the opportunity to enhance quality of life, respond to environmental challenges, and create meaningful places that reflect the people they serve.
As part of this commitment, we are proud to offer two scholarship opportunities each year that invest in the next generation of architects and design professionals:
- Architectural Scholarship Program – Supporting AIA Associate members on their path to architectural licensure.
- Student Scholarship Program – Supporting students transferring from a community college to an accredited architecture program or those pursuing a Master of Architecture degree.
These scholarships reflect our belief that investing in emerging professionals strengthens both our profession and the communities we serve.
In addition to our scholarship programs, AIA Long Beach/South Bay also recognizes design excellence through our biennial awards programs. The Design Awards (presented in odd-numbered years) honor outstanding work across a wide range of project types and scales, while Living on the Edge – Coastal Residential Design Awards (presented in even-numbered years) celebrate innovative residential design that thoughtfully respond to the unique opportunities and challenges of California's coastal environment.
Whether recognizing exceptional projects or supporting future architects, our awards programs celebrate design's lasting impact and help shape the future of the profession.
